Your Super 8 footage, cut into a film you'll actually watch back

You don't need a full videography crew to get a cinematic wedding film. Whether you shot through an I Shot That kit or a camera you already own, we handle the wedding video editing services part: syncing rolls, cleaning up the analog conversion, and cutting it into a film with an actual story arc.

This is Tyler's job, not a farmed-out task. He's spent over a decade shooting documentary wedding films on Super 8, 16mm, and Hi8, with three feature films as cinematographer. He edits knowing what the format is supposed to look like — so your film reads as intentionally vintage, not just old.

How Super 8 wedding film editing works

1

Your footage comes to us

Undeveloped Super 8 rolls go to our lab for processing and scanning first; Hi8 tapes get digitized directly. Either way, you end up with usable digital files — this is the analog video conversion step most people get stuck on.

2

We sync and organize

Multiple guests usually shot the day, often on multiple rolls or tapes. We line up footage chronologically against how the day actually unfolded.

3

Tyler edits the story

Not a slideshow of clips in order — an edited film with pacing, a beginning and an end, cut to match the tone of Super 8 or Hi8 rather than fighting it.

4

You get the film and the raw footage

Delivered in 5-7 weeks via Google Drive. The footage is yours either way.

Why couples shoot analog instead of hiring a second crew

Digital video is easy to shoot well and easy to make forgettable. Super 8's grain and Hi8's warmth do a lot of the work a director usually has to fight for — they read as nostalgic and specific by default. The tradeoff is that analog footage needs real editing to become a film instead of a shoebox of clips: processing, color, pacing, sound.

That's the gap this service closes. You get vintage wedding footage handled by someone who has cut this exact format for actual feature films — without booking a second videographer or paying for a full production crew to attend.

Already have old footage that needs restoring?

If you're sitting on Super 8 or Hi8 from your own wedding — or found a family member's old reels — we do wedding film restoration and editing on existing footage too, not just kits we shipped. Same process: we handle the conversion, then cut it into something watchable.

Common questions

Can you edit Super 8 film into a wedding video?

Yes — that's the core of this service. We send undeveloped Super 8 rolls to a lab for processing and scanning, then edit the resulting digital files into a finished film. You send the footage, we send back the film.

What's the difference between Super 8 and Hi8 for wedding footage?

Super 8 is real analog film — it needs lab processing and gives the richest, most cinematic grain. Hi8 is an early digital camcorder format that's already electronic, so it goes straight to digitization without a lab step.

Do you only edit footage from I Shot That kits, or can I send my own?

Both. If you shot with your own Super 8 or Hi8 camera — at your wedding or years ago — we can still process, convert, and edit it.

How long does Super 8 wedding film editing take?

5-7 weeks from when we receive your footage, covering lab processing (if needed), syncing, and the full edit.

Will I get the raw, unedited footage too?

Yes. Every package includes the finished film and all raw digital footage, delivered together.
